I am big fan of Ilona
Andrews, her Kate Daniels and Edge series were phenomenal and when I heard that she was releasing a new
work. I just had to read it. “Burn for Me”
is the first in the series and it was one fabulous beginning. I maybe
partial to her work, but I am fan, What
can I do. “Burn for Me” is an urban fantasy
and the Romance is slow burning, toe curling
and sizzling hot.

Ilona Andrews launches a brand-new Hidden Legacy series, in which one
woman must place her trust in a seductive, dangerous man who sets off an
even more dangerous desire . . .
Nevada Baylor is faced with the most challenging case of her detective career—a suicide mission to bring in a suspect in a volatile situation. Nevada isn't sure she has the chops. Her quarry is a Prime, the highest rank of magic user, who can set anyone and anything on fire.
Then she's kidnapped by Connor "Mad" Rogan—a darkly tempting billionaire with equally devastating powers. Torn between wanting to run and wanting to surrender to their overwhelming attraction, Nevada must join forces with Rogan to stay alive.
Rogan's after the same target, so he needs Nevada. But she's getting under his skin, making him care about someone other than himself for a change. And, as Rogan has learned, love can be as perilous as death, especially in the magic world.

First of all the fact that the one we usually peg as the
villain was the hero was a surprise for me, a good one too. Nevada and Connor are on the two extremes of the
spectrum. The chemistry between them is like burning embers, a small whisper of
wind can produce everburning flames.
A major fact I admire in Ilona’s work is the fact that there
is always a story, which moves
independent to the romance. So, even if you remove the romance and write it as
a murder mystery , it can stand on it’s own.
One problem I had with the story were the description. But
that is personal, since, I am not a fan of descriptions or much detail
The story progresses quite smoothly and I loved the twist at
the end. That was unexpected. So how much would I rate this story.....

I recommend this book
not because I am a fan but because it’s a pretty good one. Being a Fan means you
will expect a higher standard of quality from the author’s work and this author
delivers. I am eagerly waiting for it’s second part.
